Sharon Lyon, LMT, of Bethel Bodywork has been a professional massage therapist since 1971. Whether she's working with relaxing techniques of cross-fiber friction, calming and centering elements of shiatsu and reflexology, or healing Reiki touch - with the nurturing hands of experience Sharon creates a massage that is rejuvenating and stress-relieving - energizing and renewing.

Sharon's massages offer an integration of therapies that can help restore body equilibrium. At The American Institute of Professional Massage, one of only two massage schools in the northeast in 1972, Sharon had the opportunity to study directly under Gertrude Fuller and Ohashi. Deepening her understanding of bodywork, she travelled to China where she worked with prominent massage therapists in the application of chi in well-being. Certified with both Reiki I and II in the Usui system, she blends therapeutic massage and energy balance.

In the 1980's Sharon created a program of "Baby Massage" for Dads who wanted to bond with their newborns, and initiated the Cuddling Program for premature babies in a Neo-Natal Care Unit.

Sharon Lyon and her husband moved to the beautiful resort community of Bethel, Maine from Bethel, Connecticut, in 2000. The Lyon's comfortable home on Sparrowhawk Mountain affords a lovely view of the mountains from the window of the massage room.

Sharon is also a Weight Watcher's of Maine facilitator, working in Bethel and Rumford. If you'd like to attend a meeting call to enquire about times and location: 207-824-3314.

Sharon gives a very nurturing massage paying attention to the little details, like great smells and warm towels. I always feel safe under her care and appreciate the experience that comes through her hands.
-- Arla Patch

Sharon started working with me shortly after I had a stroke and her expertise was a major factor in my recovery and regaining function in my hand and arm.

With love and thanks for Sharon’s healing & opening hands.
